Oaxaca (city) Jan 27

The city of Oaxaca is located in the southern region of Mexico and is the capital city of the state with the same name. In this city, tourists can admire the beautiful architecture of the buildings that adorn its historic center, declared World Heritage by UNESCO: the Cathedral, most important temple in the city, its construction began in 1535 and it was completed until 1574. Its facade has a baroque style with sculptures of Catholic saints that frame a beautiful relief in stone with the image of the Assumption of Mary. The Temple and ex-Convent of Santo Domingo de Guzman is considered one of the wonders of the city, it has ten chapels and a large dome decorated with 104 paintings of Dominican martyrs. The Constitution square has as main attraction the portals and a kiosk from the time of Porfirio Diaz in the XXth century. As well as the Basilica de la Soledad, the Macedonio Alcalá theatre, Government Palace, Alameda, among other magnificent colonial buildings. more…

Zacatecas Sep 19

Zacatecas, which name means place where the grass is plentiful, was founded in 1546 and was originally named Mines of Zacatecas. Its mineral wealth gave strong revenue to the Spanish Crown, which made possible that this city receive the title of City of Our Lady of Zacatecas. This colonial city is located in the north central region of the Mexican Republic being one of the most beautiful cities in Mexico, thanks to its historical and architectural wealth was declared Cultural Patrimony of Humanity by UNESCO. In a walk through its narrow streets, alleyways and squares, the tourist will find a number of religious, civic and cultural buildings with a great beauty, tourist can also enjoy a trip on a the cable car. Mazunte May 03

Mazunte is one of the most beautiful beaches on the coast of Oaxaca with its golden sand and crystal clear warm water with green and blue hues, its name comes after the fact of many blue crabs that used to live in the area. Mazunte is a small town that has managed to succeed, in balance to not destroy the natural resources.

Mazunte was at the beginning, a town that lived thanks to the commerce with turtles, but a new law in 1990 banning the hunting of turtles in the pacific coast, made the villagers lost their main source of income; so authorities, residents and institutions had to find new resources to achieve how to sustained their families and improve their quality of life, based on tourism, an important museum of the turtles, crafts and a firm which makes cosmetics, soaps and other natural products. more…

Puebla Apr 22

Puebla is a city and capital of Puebla state is also known as Puebla de los Angeles, is the fourth largest city in Mexico and is listed as a World Heritage Site by  the UNESCO.

This city has many colonial buildings such as convents, parish churches or squares, the trend of mainly baroque and neoclassical XVI century, among them the cathedral, which is a building consisting of 14 chapels of various styles and protects many artistic works such as the dome and the main altar, decorated by painter Cristobal de Villalpando, besides the two organs donated by King Carlos V, this cathedral is the perfect example of the architectural beauty of the city.

The cultural wealth of this city is not only reflected in its architecture but also in its cuisine which is a mixture of pre-Hispanic heritage, Arabic, French and Spanish, which is reflected in his famous dishes such as “Chiles en Nogada” and “Mole Poblano”, which have gained worldwide fame. more…
